Personal information we collect & how it is used
Order To complete an order, our visitors must share with us contact information (name, e-mail and delivery address) and billing information. This information is used to create an account to process and fulfill the orders you place with us.
E-mail correspondence We keep a record of any e-mail correspondence you send us so that we can better serve you.
Purchases We keep a record of your purchases so that we can communicate with you about any relevant offers that might interest you. It also means we can contact you about any problems with your order.
Newsletter We invite visitors to subscribe to our Indulger newsletter, and ask for e-mail contact information to assist in its distribution. All customers receive updates of new Indulger issues automatically. Should you wish to not receive these, you may easily opt-out. Please see Choice/Opt-Out section for more info.
Surveys From time-to-time we request information from users by way of surveys. Participation in these surveys is always voluntary and the visitor therefore has a choice whether or not to disclose this information. Information requested occasionally includes contact information (such as name and shipping address), tea preferences and demographic information (such as postal code, age level). Survey information will be used for purposes of monitoring or improving the use and satisfaction of this site. This information is used for aggregate analysis, and is not ties to any individual visitor or combined with any other information we may gather.
Share This We invite our customers to mail friends about RedUmbrella Tea. This is meant to encourage a visit to our store. This information is not traded or shared with any third parties.
Special Offers Our customers will occasionally receive information on products, services, special deals, and a newsletter. Out of respect for the privacy of our customers we present the option to not receive these types of communications. Please see the opt-out section below.
On rare occasions it may be necessary to send out a strictly service-related announcement. For instance, if our service is temporarily suspended for maintenance we might send you an email. Generally, users may not opt-out of these communications. However, these communications are not promotional in nature, and are extremely infrequent.
With whom this information is shared RedUmbrella Tea is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. We do not sell or rent this information to any third party. The only companies with whom some information is shared is Paypal and your carrier of choice (e.g. Canada Post), as well as our agents (including credit reference agencies, credit card clearing agencies, fraud prevention and detection agencies) who process the orders you place with us or who provide services to you. Correction/Updating Personal Information: If your personal information changes or if you no longer desire our service, we provide an easy way to correct, update or remove your personal data. Opt-out We respect your privacy and give you an opportunity to opt-out of receiving our periodic announcements of sales, promotions and newsletter publication. Notification of Changes If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will promptly post those changes on this page. We want our visitors to be aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. If at any point we decide to use personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected, we will notify users by way of an email. Users will have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this different manner. However, if you have deleted or deactivated your account information, you will not be contacted, nor will your information be used in this new manner.
